pictShahar Brovender, the founder of CIO Services, is an IT veteran with over three decades of experience in IT, working with a broad range of companies and industries, from Wall Street firms to governmental and not-for-profit entities in varied roles including Head of application development, divisional CIO and enterprise CIO for multiple business units.

In 2013, Shahar was asked by a management consulting firm to become a part-time CIO for a financial firm on Wall Street. This led to a surprising realization: while small and mid-size firms routinely hire experts to handle various aspects of their business – from taxes to marketing to HR – their IT function is often managed by an already-busy executive chosen for the role primarily because he or she are seen as a ‘Techy.’

This realization – that organizations are under-utilizing IT, paying more than necessary, and receiving few of the benefits a strong IT function can deliver to a company – is what launched the firm.

Today we operate mostly in the New York City area, with plans to expand regionally and nationally.
